In 2013 BCBSNC redesigned the quoting and purchasing applications in advance of the rollout of the Affordable Care Act. Usability was key to informing the design, with a goal to improve the experience of purchasing health insurance, a task that most people dread.

I was the primary designer and responsible for the creative direction of the application. A moment that made me especially proud was when healthcare.gov first launched and people were having trouble accessing it, ABC News featured this web application as an alternative to calculate ACA subsidies.
